GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING MANAGEMENT USING THE AMONG METHOD TO SHAPE THE CHARACTER OF STUDENTS IN GOVERNMENT HIGHER EDUCATION
Abstract
The education system at the Higher Education Institution applies the Basic Tripola of education, which includes the formation of attitudes and behavior, knowledge and skills, and physical education through teaching, training, and nurturing. This research aims to analyze and describe the management of guidance and nurturing using the methods that shape the character of students in higher education. The study seeks to find a model of guidance and nurturing management using the among method in shaping student character that is suitable for implementation at the Higher Education Institution. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection technique uses literature study by collecting a number of books and other literature to find various relevant theories related to the problem and research objectives. The results showed that there were still weaknesses in the planning function due to the absence of a needs assessment and the unavailability of competency standardization documents for caregiver positions. Recommendations Suggestions to policymakers at the level of Ministries and State Institutions: in the implementation of official education, caregiver competency standards are needed, and a programmed and sustainable caregiving course is organized.
